1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using our website, booking tutoring sessions, or engaging with our services in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use our services. We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of our services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Services
2.1 Service Description: IBTutors provides tutoring services for International Baccalaureate (IB) students. We offer personalized, one-on-one tutoring in various IB subjects, including but not limited to Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities, Languages, Theory of Knowledge, and Extended Essay assistance.
2.2 Service Availability: Our services are subject to availability of tutors and may vary based on subject, level, and timing requirements. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time without prior notice.
2.3 Tutor Qualifications: We make reasonable efforts to ensure our tutors are qualified and knowledgeable in their subject areas. However, we do not guarantee specific outcomes, grades, or acceptance to any educational institution as a result of using our services.
3. Scheduling and Cancellations
3.1 Booking Sessions: Tutoring sessions must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance, subject to tutor availability. Sessions can be booked through our website, by email, or by phone.
3.2 Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours before the scheduled session to avoid charges. Cancellations made less than 12 hours before the scheduled session may result in full or partial charges for the session, at our discretion.
3.3 Rescheduling: We reserve the right to reschedule sessions if necessary due to tutor unavailability, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice and arrange an alternative time that works for both parties.
3.4 Late Arrivals: If a student arrives late to a session, the session will still end at the originally scheduled time. If a tutor is late, they will either extend the session accordingly or offer a credit for the lost time.
4. Payment
4.1 Fee Structure: Our tutoring fees are based on the subject, level of study, and tutor experience. Current rates will be communicated before scheduling and are subject to change with notice.
4.2 Payment Terms: Payments are due at the time of scheduling unless other arrangements have been made. For recurring sessions, payment plans may be available upon request and agreement.
4.3 Payment Methods: We accept various payment methods including credit/debit cards and bank transfers. All payments are processed through secure third-party payment processors.
4.4 Refunds: Refunds may be issued at our discretion for sessions cancelled in accordance with our cancellation policy, or in cases where we are unable to provide the agreed-upon services. Refund requests should be submitted within 7 days of the scheduled session.
5. Academic Integrity
5.1 Support, Not Replacement: Our services are designed to support learning and understanding, not to replace independent work by students. We do not complete assignments, write papers, or take tests on behalf of students.
5.2 Student Responsibility: Students are responsible for maintaining academic integrity according to their school's policies. We strongly encourage students to discuss with their teachers any tutoring support they are receiving outside of school.
5.3 Ethical Guidelines: Our tutors follow strict ethical guidelines and will refuse to assist with any requests that violate academic integrity principles or school policies.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Ownership: All materials, resources, and content provided during tutoring sessions remain the intellectual property of IBTutors unless explicitly stated otherwise. Students may use these materials for their personal educational purposes but may not reproduce, distribute, or share them without our written permission.
6.2 Student Work: Any work created by the student during or as a result of tutoring sessions remains the property of the student.
7. Privacy and Confidentiality
We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We maintain confidentiality regarding all student information, academic records, and session content.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, IBTutors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of our services.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Luxembourg, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Luxembourg.
